Kablooey et al: I have just logged on after a busy day yesterday (actually dedicated to beauty treatment kindly paid for by youngest daughter!)- I don't care for them much, preferring the wonderful Turkish Baths of London, where you can immerse yourself in some 'real' water in a 'real' pool, rather then lying on a table having bits of my face/body/legs administered, dabbed, washed, dried etc. to by a lady of perfect beauty, clad in white - in London I remember being put on a marble slab and this shiny black woman with a Trinidad accent giving me a 'brown sugar scrub' according to her own recipe, of which she also sold tins; - the most amazing thing ever - even being gently hosed down was fun; then off to the various sweat- and cold water treatments - and surrounded by tiled beauty in every room - probably all thanks to the Ottomans of long-ago - hmmm.
Anyway: amazing insights into some of our posters here, seeing a side of their psyche which is open to beauty - wonderful; great to meet you all on a totally different thread.
I haven't read anything of great impact lately, trying to get to grips with basic chemistry at the moment, have found a new friend who is a full bottle ('full test tube' rather haha) and don't want to be illiterate.
But have begun to understood what the attraction of modern media is, including the mobile and the various ping sounds which give us a rush and 'ping' our very heart strings and we are filled with an air of expectancy, as if Santa Claus was knocking at the door - so I understand what moves our younger generation.
But it won't last - it's already getting tiresome to read- and re-read the same stuff people post on Facebook, which is often just minutae of everyone's lives, and most lives aren't that interesting. So it may take a little time, but different pursuits will take their place. But artists will persevere and try to delight us with their offerings - in all fields and perhaps utilising modern media.
Hmmm - they may even post on HotCopper? Keep Alert!
