When I read the book years ago I remember trying to follow Snowy's long slow wagon trek through the Central West & Southern Slopes of NSW mainly, I couldnt find some of the little towns or localities mentioned. Of course there was no Google Maps back then. But I concluded that while a lot of places were known some others may have disappeared in the interim or were just invented. She's dead now (1988) so it's too late to write to her. Kylie Tennant must have been quite a breath of fresh air for her time. I wonder do kids study Australian writers like this now. I hope so.
