My understanding is that booktopia copped a 6 million dollar fine from the asic and spent millions on trying to automate their processing and handling facility but it failed, the debt put them below water. I haven't looked at it in depth mate.
it's not for me to figure out if there's a sound business model behind it, it was a market darling for a reason at some point though. I'm sure whoever is looking at the books, facility etc and making offers for parts of or the business as a whole will do due diligence before any offers. They're after a quick liquidation, im sure theres at the very least, cheap assets for sale well below cost.
