You dont actually have to 'engage' anyone. Just go and visit, and see what they say. Don't sign on with anyone.
Its not often you get a 30k windfall. Sure, it would be nice to get 20 fold on that, but its a good base to invest sensibly from.
Traveling...highly recommend it. Geez, I've almost done 50 countries and have loved every bit of it... you may not like traveling...i don't know. Depends on where you go as to how much it will cost you. Some places you can travel for months on bugger all...others a very expensive day to day. I like the bugger countries....If it was me i'd throw aside 5k for a trip OS (if that floats your boat) and invest the other 25k like this 10k into TLS, 10k into a Bank (divs are great) and 5k into something with a bit more R&R. Having said that, I would not be doing this right now....I'd wait for my opportunity to come.
