After getting advice from a supposedly large and reputable financial house I invested part of my inheritence $160K into a share portfolio.
My advisor/planner got wealthly while losing all my capital (and his other clients money) and I now I have a $75K mortgage against my home which I owned since I was 27, from working 3 jobs.
As far as I am concerned 95% of advisors, planners and brokers are crooks. None of them have done a hard days work in their lives. They don't care if they lose other peoples money as long as they make money for themselves.
Good luck with whatever you do with your $30K.
