    afternoon,

"My point is that its stupid if people complain about super being a bad investment when it is merely a holding structure and the investments within it are what one makes them."

    absolutely correct.

It is a belief thing - people think super funds are a place for shareholdings - only park in cash whilst waiting.

Same thing as most people think of the stock market as being a place where you buy shares and sell them when they are higher.

It's all belief - and false belief at that.

Australians are imo very uneducated about finance - they will buy something and sell it at the drop of a hat for a small but highly visible profit - putting very little thought into value. They often do that without the slightest thought of what tax is due as well.

I am constantly amazed at how we buy cars and boats or even lawn mowers compared to how we buy a stock.

People will research for days - even weeks to buy a car - but they will jump into a stock the next morning after a mate tells them of a stockmarket tip ?????

And then they whinge when the sp goes south. Amazing.

We are a strange mob. I guess that is one of the things that makes living here great - god seems to look after us for some reason - probably because we can't do it ourselves much :)

    have a great arvo

    Pinto
