Interesting to see clean coal included in the 2020 clean energy target for Liberal party...bilateral support for subsidising UCG, albeit indirectly.

re biofuels: they are struggling, but most are trading under asset value now. Also, with re-instatement of fuel tax concessions and high oil prices, could still be profitable even with higher input costs. I've got my fingers crossed that Labour put in a mandatory biofuel content requirement in their energy policy (e.g. like NSW for ethanol)...then the cost issues become irrelevant...at least for the producers.
