The Bill still needs to be voted on before it becomes law, but it would give the federal government the power to identify and directly invest in major projects it considers to be in Australia’s ‘national interest’.
There would be long list of candidates. ECT should not be relying on govt help, so unpredictable / political.
Excellent move by Labor, no point blindly hanging on to all aspects of globalisation when the USA has become isolationist.
