The former vice president of AMA Victoria has said boosters are now a "must" for combating the soaring COVID-19 rates.
Dr Mukesh Haikerwal said it would be difficult to decide to re-impose more restrictions or a lockdown, but that Victorians needed to stick to the lessons learned so far.
"Make sure we get the vaccinations happening, keep our masks on, and have some slow restrictions being lifted rather than all or nothing," he said.
"We need to now make sure that we treat everybody in front of us like they have COVID.
"The boosters now are not an either-or, but a must."
