A story by Motley Fool today regarding rumoured takeover interest of Bank of Queensland. Just put the heading in a search.
Basically Chalmers approved ANZ SUNCORP. Since then suitors have been circling BOQ. Nothing has eventuated yet though I am glad there is interest in it.
The board appear not to be prepared to give away the company or its assets unless we can get a decent price. I am happy if they are holding out for a higher price.
The article discussed that things are looking up for BOQ over the next 3 years. I would prefer to see the company turn itself around than for someone to come in and buy it at what I would consider a bargain price like $7.50. No matter what I am in for the long haul and will just let it play out. If eventually I have to accept a takeover then so be it otherwise happy to get some decent dividends in the mean time.
