Today both Westpac and ANZ came out and stated 'bad debts are increasing'. WBC referred more to business loans and ANZ home mortgages. Several mining downs in WA have seen property prices crash 30-40% with more falls to come. Towns in QLD holding up better. Either way QUB was strongest bank by a long chalk today. It is the only bank with yr end this month. Seems mkt expects a fairly good result. perhaps but still reckon outlook statement will be main item.
