The beating in China seemed not too serious - just some relatives seeking compensation for a work-related death - a very strange work-related death. A Boral employee drank excessively at a company dinner, apparently that was his duty as getting tanked is a sign of good will in rural China. He was the 'designated drinker' for the evening. Unfortunatly, it killed him.
The relatives are getting physical as a sign of protest. I daresay Boral will pay them off.
The Qld situation sounds like a setback. Bad debts are a regular business expense, but one does not like to see them in high figures. This is a recurrent problem in the building industry.
