Bore vs Rain water tank

Got a bit of motivation and got stuck into clean up the much neglected garden, including a patch of about 70 sqm that use to be a lawn that had become over grown with Kikuyu.

So the plan is to establish a vege plot and also plant some fruit trees with of course will require a fair bit of water, all up I will have about 200-250 sqm of garden to water

First though was to install some rain water tanks, look at costs and $1000 buys a 5000 lt tank, not sure how long that would last and here in Perth I have doubts we get enough rain in summer to keep enough water.

Bit of a google search and I see estimated costs of a bore from $2500-$5000 depending on how deep they need to drill, water table is about 9m from the surface so I would think the cost of the bore for me would be at the lower end of that estimate.

Humm sounds like a bore make more sense, any thoughts?
