firstly, they are using Winter Diesel, secondly fuel tanks are fitted with heaters, thirdly engines working almost 24h a day to prevent damages associated with freezing conditions and more, and more and more.......... list is very long.
by the way , half of my life a spend in Northern Hemisphere and I had a opportunity working in freezing conditions .
