A lot of the crazy beliefs of Muslims stems from their own cultural (tribal) traditions. Having browsed through the Koran there is nothing to say that women/girls should have their genitals mutilated at all. There is also nothing to tell them they should walk around wearing sacks (preferably black). The Koran, like the Bible, simply states that a woman should dress modestly. Nothing wrong with that. What is wrong is the cultures embedded into the religion.
Of greater concern is the support of violence against non-Muslims in the Koran, then again this too is prevalent in the Jewish Talmud.
