I have a smsf with approx $550,000 and because I am currently renting I am thinking of buying a house with the smsf and then renting it at market rates. I also feel that the property would be a good investment. I am sure I can change the investment strategy of the SMSF to focus on property. My question is can I do this and have my smsf rent to myself and can the fund borrow approx $350,000 from a bank etc.
