Perhaps they are just trying to highlight how much their stock appears to be undervalued - even though the SP has effectively tripled over the past year.
Some just can't bring themselves to buy in unless they can see positive earnings growth over multiple consecutive years. That is the only "value" they can see. For most "growth" investors however, they can spot "future value" in fledgling companies so they get in early and just wait. Unfortunately, you can't have it both ways!
