I walked over to the aisle expecting Sir Andrew but there he was, tall and a bit fragile, the one and only Mark Brandon Read.
I attended to his query but was left a tad staggered. Mark had still been on the juice even though he had been diagnosed with a nasty cancer. Go bloody figure I thought. The bastard still has them locked in.
A year and a half later, Frank Deaney (don't do it in collingwood) dropped in and said the chop was gone. There is a lovely you tube clip out there from chopper, where he sits on a couch and talks to his son, a fitting ode from father to son that i absolutely adored.
Yes i knew all of these guys.
