The results don't need to be known. The negotiations will be based on a possible series of outcomes, if this then that. Essentially negotiating now is just going to speed the process up. I'm not sure how much risk mitigation there will be as if the trial is either inconclusive or worse the deal wont be worth anything, but positive results and we're set to go. Nice to see the price climb back this afternoon when the bots left us alone for a while.
