Yeah or it was dragged higher on close so that stop losses and take profits are dragged higher with it. . .
This allows a sell off in the morning to drive the price lower triggering these stop losses! They then come in swooping buying up stock that would not have otherwise been available. 
Only have to look at what happened to IMM today to see what manipulation and psychology is capable of in transferring wealth!
