Humans are skittish and anxious creatures. It’s in our DNA as a survival mechanism and nobody is immune from it, not even seasoned, professional investors. We saw evidence of last minute uncertainty on this forum from many people who have held with conviction for a long time and most of whom aren’t exactly dummies. I see it every day in the office. Smart people can still panic and make irrational and emotive decisions.
I’m guessing that the contributors to this forum collectively hold $50-$100m in BOT. Enough to have an impact. And if the algos are leveraging human nature by pushing prices around (and their aim is of course to impact the psychology of the market), then negative talk will further cement sentiment. The human factors shouldn’t be underestimated.
