I also believe the charts are manipulated to scare traders in to seeing patterns. either to encourage them to buy in to pump the price, or help add capping pressure to drive stocks down. Something that is probably easy to do on the ASX and stocks in a certain MC range. For example, If I want my insto to buy in under 30 cents i'll manipulate the chart to look like a head and shoulders pattern, scare people to sell, then snap up shares at whatever price I want. 4D chess insto moves, or is that just a well know tactic?
