I would rely on a good patent agent* to help me write an application which ticked all the boxes, especially inventive step, a convincing embodiment, and well thought out claims. I would also make sure that there was no central aspect of my application which leads to a clear fail and rejection, which I believe is present in this case.

It isn't that we don't fear competition, it is just that we haven't seen any yet.
