I was under the impression that the settlement date is used for tax purposes so if they sell tomorrow the settlement is Monday 1/7/25 falling into next years financial and not this one.
if wrong I stand corrected but I think if they want to offset some gains from this financial year it would have to be today.
they can always buy back tomorrow but at the risk the open is higher than what they sold at but I don’t think it would matter much to them if they believe it will come back up with good news coming
