Like many others here I got my a**e handed to me on a plate last year when mixed results came out about BTX1503 Phase 2 on 23/10/19.
At the time I thought who are the nutcases who are a part of the 16.3 million that were short just leading into that announcement ? To me it seemed very risky for them or they had inside knowledge the USA results were going to be all over the shop.

I went in a bit harder than normal because the company had just raised $40m to US institutional investors at 24cents. Following the smart money was the theory, which proved to be full of bullet holes. So did the supporting evidence reflected in the chart at the time. All the tick boxes got big black crosses plastered over them. What a f***k up on my behalf and since then I have been trying to establish how did I not twig to the large short position. A few players (probably USA money) knew exactly what was coming. That bet was simply too large to be a couple of mad punters.

Now we have Argonaut either capping it, or distributing it to their clients/associates with retail accounts. Or they simply have the position where they are square and want out. Difficult to really know, but 6.5m net sales is not to be ignored.

Does anyone have any broker data from late September 2019 that shows who the broker was who had the majority short position at that time?

Or maybe the shorts were set up as a hedge for all the holders that came in at the time to reduce their risk in case the results were mixed?
