its not exactly a conspiracy, there are clear reports and documentation on it. (its why there is also lots of marking about TA, most of this marketing is by "wallstreet and brokers - follow the loop on who owns these TA education firms - day trade and you can make money too!") - remember they do NOT make money on big fat accounts, they make money on clipping the ticket on every trade. (thats where 90% of wallstreet $ comes from that and IPO deals etc)
people should read the book Flashboys and understand how front-running trades work.
also remember that exchanges are generally run by a company and that is also self-listed on their own exchange they never will cut their noses off when offering "premium services" to 'insiders'.
