Not so sure you can apply that reasoning to all sectors.
BIO many many years of nothing, in between research and trial results, can add up to stagnant performance. Catalysts afford opportunities to take profits, whilst the dangers of CRs are a constant threat to SP decline.
On the other hand a blue chip holding long term makes perfect sense.
