There are many ways to play this game.

I guess the one thing we could all agree on is that discipline is key. Whether you're buying pictures, words or numbers, the division that cuts a line through the pack is consistancy.

If OP hit a huge loss today, which I'm guessing is the case, I would say to them, don't be disheartened. That's part of the game. Use this as an opportunity to examine what you are doing and where the weakness in your strategy might lie.

Perhaps they are risking more capital than they can afford to lose? Maybe they are making choices based on emotion or biological habit? The market has no shape that points in a direction of 'good' or 'bad'. It doesn't make judgements about us. It is amorphis and uncaring and beautiful in that way. Like the ocean, we can use it, but we can't tame it.

I'm not trying to be harsh, but shouting at the sky won't accomplish much. Don't be afraid to probe and be honest with yourself. It's the only way to pinpoint the source of such a reaction and maybe have the chance to do something about it.
