Why would a broker use a bot to hold down a thinly traded stock? Answer, to accumulate shares for their clients. Being slightly paranoid, maybe one broker is selling small amounts so that another broker's clients can top-up. If the system allows this unfair (for us) trading by bots, who knows what else is going on. Imagine what would be going on if we were allowed to trade small amounts with brokerage only on the total traded. I know I would be attempting to push the price up or down on the stocks I am interested in, but no, that would be manipulation, wouldn't it? What a joke. I complained to the ASX and ASIC several years ago when this bot trading first started, but it's still allowed, for some.
