Hi sameoldstory,
I used the auction recently to top up, at the predictable lower close, at the end of the day (it was a modest 372k shares - and at 1.2c when the bid had been sitting there all day - making 1.3c the buy on market proposition). It saved me a 372 bucks and lowered my buy price a little so why not. If you want to take advantage of their game; then just make sure the game is on - and that an order larger than what you want is being lowered (volume not price) in the final seconds of the auction "game" - which I agree is crap. You stick in your bid and they lower theirs so the price closes at the bid not the ask. It is a little risky so make sure you are willing to buy at the offer before you try it. This is the market we are dealing with, so as Matt180890 correctly points out, it can be used by you too.
Main point of post
We wait for confirmations about the gold production from the mines department, to assure us that H2 CY2025 is the start of cash flow and a higher share price. This is a vital point when considering a position, or larger position in DRE. It will change the dynamics of the company and present it in a more favorable light for investors.
The SoM site, and others nearby, were disturbed before regulations so the government wants it rehabilitated. That means the government / mines dept. are on our side - as only mining and then rehab will see this area put back in a compliant condition under modern regulations. This is big news as it is confirmation the gold will go ahead on time, probably on budget (delays can cause cost issues too) and into a rising gold price.
Gold has not topped here which is great for DRE cash flows later in the year. Gold futures trade in contango (usually - means higher prices in forward month contracts = premium over spot prices) and the current AUD POG is $4,668/0z meaning the futures contract will be higher; at least $4700 - 4750/oz Au and $52 - $53M cash profit to split with BC8 (estimated). That is $26M incoming and all but confirmed, as only the mines department could stop this ...and they do not want to stop it.
The Board are shopping for a partner on the (strategic) carbonatites which will cement a strong negotiation position for processing and therefore a valuation on this second barrel of the DRE valuation proposition. Our mate Green Bull gave us in-situ valuation (thank you) which puts the deposit exploration target as a potential company maker on its own.
HAS put DRE in a strong position for negotiating with such a partner and so does the gold. A partner successfully "shopped" would put DRE in a great position for a decent deal (commercial terms) at the HAS project too.
Meanwhile we wait for the final stages in various deals to be completed adding JV's or outright sale of tenements and discoveries that also add higher valuation to this company.
The share price is stubborn because DRE do not have to raise money again, at least for a long time. So prospective investors have to buy on market. Strategic buying is evident.
