I agree solar is part of the future but that thought will not keep the lights bright today you would do a cost benefit analysis on what is know not now not sometime in the future.
Saying coal is old technology there is such a thing as new technology just like the comparison between wright brothers and a 747.
This what the problem has been there has been a stupid race to see which state could out bid the next on how much % renewables they would achieve some time in the future without telling us how we would get there or what technology and of course the Greens the left and media did not ask the question how.
