Coal will be part of the mix for a long time, best to make sure that is used at maximum efficiency.
I can see why no one wants to pay for new coal power stations though. The payback period is to great. Technology is advancing so fast the risk is to high that you end up losing.
It needs government money. As a household consumer I am not sure that is the best bang government energy subsidy for my buck.
