Re "Why have they sold these?"
I have never shorted any shares, but I thought that the idea is to borrow, sell a certain price and then try and buy them back at a lower price to return the borrowed ones. Whole idea of shorting a share is because the shorter thinks the share will go down for one reason or another.
But in this case, nothing makes any sense. May be that's why I can never be a shorter.
