I see reports on BOTS regularly associated with tiny parcels. Today almost 3m shares traded (which is above average) but a lot of tiny parcels ie less than 1,000 shares. Not a lot of big chucky parcels (say > 200,000) I don't understand why BOTs are prevalent as they must cost a fortune in brokerage. Can anyone explain BOTs and why they are used?
