I don't know that an algo has ever cost me money either but a competitive market should be an open market with all market participants visible. Our governments, the ACCC, all promote this concept but here on our largest market we have invisible participants with ever increasing volumes. If I place an order an I'm the highest bidder I should be the next trade but I have placed orders and watched for hours as hundreds of computer driven trades go through which are not visible to anyone. All I'm saying is make them visible to all.
