IMHO, Shortes and Bots are only successfull when the company is and has been underperforming, and as such, created doubts in the shareholder's/investor's mind.
If on the other hand, the company performs very well, shorters would look at serious trouble trying to short a company that is going like a rocket. They, IMHO will stay clear of that.
My thoughts.
(I am not a shorter, and never have been one. As a matter of fact I absolutely hate them and have no time for them at all. I really enjoy when they get badly burned and run away with their pants on fire.)
