Bit strange the price is going up now with nothing going on, I was thinking it would flat line until just ahead of the next batch of results, must be some stake building going on
As far as the contracts I mentioned, I believe they pass on the price risk of the jet fuel to the contract customer, I would imagine as commodity/energy producers they are happy to take this risk as high jet fuel should only happen when coal is strong and other commods.
I am guessing that business is still pretty good, and still very little chance any other airline is going to invest in a large fleet to compete so for the time being the competition around contract renewals will be more about how much the rates are going up by....
