The following link gives some interesting background on so called High Frequency Trading Systems which appear to be similar to what may be going on currently on the ASX.

Pretty heavy stuff but worth a read, particuarly in relation to "providing liquidity".

Whether this is the same os "Bot Trading", I do not know, but shows that the avaerage "retail" investor has little chance in short term trading against the pro's.
