I think what you're seeing is that someone has put through an order for x amount of shares and only some of that order has executed. So for example if you put a buy order through for 1000 shares at a limit of $1.00 each. If there were only 950 shares for sale at $1.00 or less then you order would only execute for that many until someone decided to sell some more for $1.00 or less. Leaving the 50 remaining shares in your order still sitting there in the buying pool. Which makes it look as though someone has put an order of $50.00 through (less than minimum requirement of $500).
I'm not 100% on that but that's what I've gathered from experience. I saw an order of an odd number of shares a while back that looked as though it was for around $20 or so and came to that conclusion.
