It's been a horrible start to production, however Platinum mining is probably the toughest gig in the mining game. 1. Power supply shortages 2. Power supply costs increasing at circa 25% per annum. 3. A strengthening Rand. 4. Combined with bad inflation. 5. Continual Striking. 6. Nationalisation threats in Zimbabwe, even talk in SA.
Overall I think PLA has been less affected than most SA operations as a result of strikes since commissioning. Anyway I'm gonna wait until the next qtrly until evaluating.
