Has anyone noticed the Dems in the US are awfully quiet about this trade war? They are Sherlock Holmes' dog that didn't bark in the night. I would say their polling has told them Trump's spat with China is very popular so they've shut up.
China can't win even a small dispute with the US. They don't hold the de facto global currency and they have no oil which is priced in dollars along with almost everything else. Europe rebuffed China's embarrassingly awkward advances to team up and Japan, Oz and the other ASEAN nations won't play ball with Emperor Xi either.
So, I figure this "war" is only going to last as long as it takes Xi to figure out how to back down without losing face.. or his head and we'll all be back on track real soon.
