The following quotes relate to my discussion yesterday regarding the more affordable end of the property market.

Obviously, the statements fall squarely withn the realms of "opinions," however, I do agree with the individuals.

The Australian Financial Review, January 23-26, 2009

Canberra: "Cheaper areas, where the median price hovers around $450,000, also did well"

Victoria: "The market driving it at the moment is this lower end, the sub-$600,000 bracket, which is fuelled by the first-home buyers grant"

Queensland: "PR Data research analyst Cameron Kusher says the lower end of the market will outperfom all others in Brisbane during 2009, with falling interest rates, generous Federal Government handouts and State Government exemptions for purchases under $500,000 all helping to fuel consumer interest."

Byron Bay: "The high end of the market seems to be affected, however, the entrance levels for properties in the $300,000 to $800,000 bracket is where the activity is at the moment."
