The board are comprised of some of the largest shareholders in fact. A look at the top 20 list will clearly show that fact.
The board are also restricted by laws as to when the can and cannot buy due to insider trading laws, so if there are deals soon to become public they would not be able to buy even if they should wish to.
Personally i think the board all have significant stakes in the company to have them personally invested in seeing the successvof spenda occur
