eh, last I saw, this economy was still on top even after 3 years of the ALP. And I doubt we would even be having a conversation on Australia's economic prowess without Keating's fiscal reforms (floating AUD, deregulation of financial markets, compulsory superannuation). Name one fiscal reform implemented by the Howard Government. Just one.
Ugh, I hate spruiking the ALP, this really isn't my style.
Rudd losing the election because he taxed the miners in 2012 to boost the superannuation of Australia? Right... A real vote loser. This as opposed to Abbott - Send all the young people on the dole to WA, tax companies to pay for 6 months paid maternity leave... bwahaha, who's the real socialist?
And plus, this was a policy recommendation developed by a non-partisan figure at the head of Treasury (Ken Henry was appointed by Costello himself). This was hardly a socialist ploy concocted at Trades Hall. The Business Council of Australia (who have campaigned heavily against the Labor Government since its election) is actually backing these reforms.
I'm sure everyone has something cathartic to say so I'll probably leave it at that.
Well I warned everyone here about a week or two ago about waiting for China's response to inflation... and there you have it.
