Contractors don't operate at a loss deliberately - those that say they will do a job for cost (to keep cash flow) don't do 10m+ jobs. Also, any principal knows if you push too hard you fu## your own project and spend a (legal and engineering) fortune arguing over every claim. This is just a beat-up to ensure contractors remain sharp!!
