I am not a big fan of charting but out of curiosity have had a look at various chartists views(both upside and downside) and a fair generalisation is that stocks are a big "buy" when they have gone up and a big "sell" when they are going down.
I like to buy when the chartists say it is a "sell" (ie downtrend). You can never pick the absolute bottom but panic selling does tend to have a limited shelf life. In terms of charts, have a look at OST. The panic selling was very similar to IAU and look at the subsequent recovery.
The compnay does need to spend some time outlining its plan of attack as the uncertainty is huirting the share price at present. If it can clarify its position in a clear announcement then this could shoot back to $1.00+ quickly.
