BOUGAINVILLE: Young Rebels Choose Books Over Guns

Pacific Beat/Radio Australia Online reports that,after weeks of bad press, finally some positive news has emerged from Papua New Guinea's troubled autonomous province of Bougainville.
It has been confirmed that 12 young members of the late rebel leader Francis Ona's Me'ekamui group have put down their weapons and returned to school.
The youths had been working as guards at three of the Me'ekamui road blocks in Buin, South Bougainville, but have now decided to swap their guns for school books.
