hi amhtet
most traders will be interested in wednesdays release of cpi and industrial production in china.
some are forcasting 5.3% but as others are forcasting a higher number of 5.5%, interesting times.
SHANGHAI (Dow Jones)--China's consumer price index will likely rise 5.5% in April from a year earlier, the state-run China Securities Journal said in a commentary piece Tuesday.
The paper said the recent decline of vegetable prices will ease inflation pressure in the near term. It said if vegetable prices fall by 10% on year in the second quarter, the CPI in the quarter will be 0.2-0.5 percentage points lower. Economists originally expected a 5%-6% CPI for the second quarter.
The average wholesale prices of 18 major vegetables has declined 16.2% in the past three weeks, the paper said, citing data from the commerce ministry.
But the paper warned about the possibility of another increase in vegetable prices at the end of this year, as farmers may cut production and reduce supply.
