I might be wrong but is is not Syrah who has yet to prove whether they actually have the quality of graphite that is of interest for either steel making or EVB manufacture ? This is according to to all the articles I have read to date and especially according to SYR last official announcement, or did I miss something?.
Lamboo, has proven/tested their graphite for EVB manufacture, concluded an off take agreement with hengda, a scoping study and is now in discussions with Hengda for a merger for vertical integration..
My understanding, from what I have read, is Glencore currently control the Graphite market for its use in steel production and what Glencore want to make sure of is that there will not be too much graphite coming on stream as compared to the demand for it from the steel industry. Syrah has large quantities (61 Million tonnes) of graphite, this is why Glencore is interested to buy Syrah - however this is still, I believe, subject to Syrah providing proof of quality
Or am I wrong?.
