I suspect that there is/are some larger holder or holders selling down their AMX stake for whatever reasons.
All this trading can not just be small holders being shaken out.
The goldies still have the sell in May and go away season to get through plus tax loss selling in June. There is no reason to expect anything for the goldie sector until sometime in the second half of 2013 when some inflation may kick in in the USA. If Bernanke starts to taper down QE later in 2013, then this may be a negative for all asset classes, including gold.
Perhaps Italy's financial sector will become an issue in 2013 and drive the POG up. The other main hope for gold is rising inflation in Chindia.
